Pioneer Mk 1 Operating Instructions

Instructions

1. Unwrapping

  1. Once you have opened your watch and seen its beauty you will want to remove all the protective covers. The watch case is protected by a thin protective film on the front of the watch and an additional one on the back. Both will need removing if you are to enjoy the true beauty of the watch.

  2. Some of the watches will still retain the blue plastic shield for the crown, if this is the case on your watch then please remove to reveal the Whytes Logo.

  3. Your watch is now ready to be enjoyed.

2. Winding

  1. The Pioneer Mk 1 is a mechanical watch, which means, that it will wind itself through the movement of your arm as you work rest and play. Simply wear it to wind it.  You will see how much time you have left in the watch (in hours) on the power meter at the top of the dial.

3. Setting the Time

  1. The Pioneer Mk 1 is waterproof to 10ATM. To achieve this the watch crown is screwed down. To set the time and date you will need to wind the crown screw anti-clockwise until it pings open.

  2. You can wind the watch manually at this point but this is not normally necessary.

  3. When the crown is pulled to the first position ‘B’ the turning the crown clockwise will change the date one day at a time.

  4. Pull the crown out to position ‘C’ to change the time. Remember that this is a 24 hour movement so to ensure the correct time is set in the small window at the bottom turn the crown until the time on this also reads correctly.  DO NOT set the date between the hours of 11pm and 2am, you will damage the movement.

  5. Once date and time are set correctly gently press the crown in and wind clockwise to set the waterproof seal again.  Do not overwind or you will damage the case and movement.
